Δεν μπορω να εντοπισω το λογο για τον οποιο αυτη η απεικονιση προσελκυσε το ενδιαφερον μου.. ειναι αληθεια οτι τετοιες μορφες ακαμπτες, στιβαρες και αφυσικα ως μονο επιφανειακα ηρεμες προκαλουν μια αμετροεπη σχεδον αποτρεπτικη διαθεση προσεγγισης με το αντικειμενο. ισως ομως αυτο το ταξιδι του νου σε τοσο μακρινους και παραξενους για τα ειθισμενα μου οσο και ενδιαφεροντες τροπους εκφρασης να ειναι τελικα αυτο που μαγνητιζει το βλεμμα κατακλυζοντας συναμα την ψυχη με αδιορατες εντασεις απο τις υποκωφες εκ βαθεων εκρηξεις του προσωπου πισω απο το προσωπειο..ειναι κι αυτο το χαιρεκακο χαμογελο, τα προστατευμενα στο μετρο του χρηστικου ματια, η ταση του κεφαλιου εκ του σχηματος του να φυγει προς τα πανω σαν κατι να το τραβαει προς τα εκει,η τελειοτητα της υφης, οι διακριτικες σκιες, τα ιδεογραμματα που προσδιδουν σχημα στο ανυπαρκτο σωμα.. που ενδυναμωνουν αυτη τη διαφυγη στο αγνωστο και το μυστηριωδες.. ευχαριστω για την αφορμη ενος τετοιου ταξιδιου!!

Η μασκα του Noh δεν εχει σχεση με την καλλιγραφια των ιδεογραμματων και αυτα σχηματιζουν τη φραση "Ενιοτε η συναντηση ειναι σκληρη".
Αυτα για ενα νεο ταξιδι!!

Your quote in combination with the darkness that surrounds the smiling face reminds me of the following lines I once read: "...And then, finally, when I'll die, I'll be reborn as a cherry blossom in my mother's garden..."
ΑπάντησηΔιαγραφήWhat does that mean - this mask's strange smile (which doesn't seem to be a smile, but somehow the expression of bitterness and sadness) in such a deep, embracing darkness? I have the impression that the man behind the mask likes the darkness although he fears it. As if the darkness would be a blanket or a robe that he wears in order to protect and hide himself from the rest of the world, that he doesn't like. As if the darkness would be the only thing he ever knew... The darkness and the loneliness... Just like a self built prison... that he has learned to love.
The script in japanese calligraphy states: "sometimes a meeting is cruel". I added the Noh mask of young woman on the top. I prefered black as surrounding mood!

This is the mechanism of our inner world to interact with actual life. Meeting with what life spares for us out there and then returning back home. Expanding and shrinking perpetually.

That makes sense. Now it isn't so scary any more like I felt at the first sight. By the way, your paintings are very beautiful and so interesting. There is something very deep and sensitive inside of them. They have power but also a kind of fragility. You are gifted. Go on with that! And thank you for your explanations.
